Aenaon: A Modern Luxury in Packaging

Spiros Gizas, an esteemed designer from Nea Ionia, Greece, introduces Aenaon, a one-of-a-kind cosmetic box design that combines modern luxury with sustainability. The design process, which began in 2020, culminated in the production of these unique boxes in 2021. Aenaon is the recipient of the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022, recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity.

The Aenaon packaging design is characterized by its emphasis on the passage of light through the container, creating a captivating interplay of shapes and shadows. Crafted with a keen eye for detail, the exterior features an abstract monochrome print and multiple embossments, adding character and providing a tactile experience for the consumer.

Constructed with a paper Rives Sensation Mat 370g, the Aenaon boxes are not only visually striking but also environmentally conscious, with FSC certification ensuring responsible sourcing of materials. The intricate interior design, created using composite bases with paper, adds a layer of surprise and creativity, forming a puzzle of shapes that delights the consumer upon opening.

One of the key challenges overcome during the design process was the creation of shapes that allowed for the passage of light and transparency, while ensuring that the materials used were environmentally friendly and recyclable. The result is a packaging design that seamlessly blends minimalism with luxury, offering a sensory journey for the consumer.
