Chih Yi Chen's residential house design, "Enjoyment of Life," reimagines retirement living with a focus on calmness and modesty, integrating the occupants' personality and temperament into the space. The project, completed in May 2022 in Taipei City, Taiwan, has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023.

Chih Yi Chen's "Enjoyment of Life" is a residential house spanning 149m2, designed to provide a stable and introverted living environment for the retirement stage. The open-plan living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and secondary bedroom are thoughtfully integrated to cater to the occupants' needs for the following decades.
The design incorporates advanced technology to ensure safety and convenience, with features like independent lighting in the entrance cabinet and shoe stool, and arc angles to minimize collision and injury risks. The space is dominated by grey, white, and dark brown colors, with specific areas laid with white floor tiles for easy maintenance.
The project was completed in May 2022 in Taipei City, Taiwan, and has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically reflects experience and resourcefulness.
Chih Yi Chen's "Enjoyment of Life" perfectly integrates the owner's personality and preferences into the space design, interpreting a calm and pragmatic temperament with an open space. The design overcame challenges related to the ceiling and curved edges, utilizing ingenious lighting and shadow techniques to create a visually seamless environment.
