LYCS Architecture introduces the Hangzhou Haishu School, a groundbreaking project inspired by a child's ideal school, set to revolutionize educational architecture in Hangzhou, China.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LYCS Architecture has unveiled the Hangzhou Haishu School, a revolutionary educational project that reimagines traditional school design. Inspired by a child's drawing depicting an ideal school as a small town filled with small-scale spaces and "happy" streets, the 28000sqm campus is divided into 15 smaller gabled volumes, gradually increasing in scale to accommodate the growth and changing behaviors of children. This innovative approach creates a comfortable and dynamic campus environment with interconnected inner courtyards.
The Hangzhou Haishu School project includes a kindergarten and a primary school, featuring teaching buildings, an administration building, a gym, and a canteen. The functional spaces are interconnected through corridors, inner courtyards, and dynamically shaped exposed stairs, providing not only circulation but also ample activity spaces. This design sets a new standard for educational architecture, fostering an environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and collaboration.
LYCS Architecture's Hangzhou Haishu School has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2022. This accolade acknowledges the project's exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and innovative approach, setting a new benchmark for excellence in architectural design.
