Top Player: Breaking Conventional Living Patterns

Zhi Duan's Top Player project is a daring break from conventional living patterns, designed to cater to the unique personality and fun of Generation Z. The 315 square meter residence is located in Shen Zhen, China, and was finished in November 2020. The project aims to subvert the interpretation of traditional luxury houses with a concept of fun and cater to the new trend of urban upstarts' aesthetic.

The project features a highly personalized living room with no aesthetic rules to follow, creating a space filled with charm and color. Natural materials such as cotton, linen, and wool are used throughout the bedroom bedding and fabrics, providing a soft and smooth touch. The space also incorporates arc-shaped elements to soften the squareness of the area and create a contrast between curves and straights, making the public space more interesting.

The design team carefully selected quality and timeless materials, insisting on honest and responsible production to mitigate the environmental impact and harmonize with long-term sustainability. The project was awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness.
