Baodong Wang's Xu Zhai is a revolutionary residential building design that captivates with its innovative approach and breathtaking aesthetics. The design inspiration stemmed from the desire to introduce water and drought views, enrich spatial experiences, and create a ventilated ambiance. The project, which commenced in Jinan in 2020 and was completed the same year, has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2022.

The 1000 square feet mansion boasts unique features, including the introduction of front virescence and lake surface into the interior through large floor-to-ceiling glass, offering unparalleled views and a strong connection with nature. The design's use of wood, stone, paint, and glass showcases the fusion of traditional and contemporary materials, elevating the overall visual appeal.

Wang Baodong's vision for Xu Zhai was to create a multi-level space that promotes convenient interaction and dialogue between occupants. The design successfully overcame challenges related to communication and interaction between levels, resulting in a harmonious and functional living environment.
