Introducing Fontana Haus, a residential house design by Zwu Shyan Tee, inspired by the fountain detail from Fondazione Querini Stampalia Venice, creating a harmonious space with seamless gypsum board protrusions and vivid hues.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Zwu Shyan Tee's Fontana Haus is a residential house design that redefines space with minimalist elegance. Inspired by the fountain detail from Fondazione Querini Stampalia Venice, the design features a suspended lamp mimicking a fountain flow to a protruded curve TV console, creating a pool of waves. The goal was to unify the space by utilizing the ceiling-height dimension as the focal point, seamlessly integrating a gypsum board wall protrusion and adding a splash of vivid color to amplify the enormous bare wall.
The unique properties of Fontana Haus lie in its ability to seamlessly meld an exalted and humble ceiling, creating a harmonious space. The protruding curve console is made out of custom gypsum board in selected fillet angles, manually installed and seamlessly integrated with the wall. The space measures approximately 13410mm(L) x 5997mm(W) x 5400mm(Void H) & 2600mm(dining H), with the console covering around 3967mm(L) x 423mm(D) x 1200mm(H).
Fontana Haus, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was a project that commenced in March 2022 and was completed in July 2022. The design concept was inspired by the dripping fountain, aiming to create a functional design of a TV console while utilizing the existing building structure to create a distortion of dimensional impression on the wall with a minimalist approach.
