Belenco introduces Teos, a sustainable and durable marble look quartz surface, inspired by the rare Bianco Arabescato marble from Carrara, Italy, and designed by Esra Arıcı.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Belenco's Teos is a revolutionary surfacing solution that offers a sustainable and durable alternative to the rare Bianco Arabescato marble. Composed of semi-precious quartz granules and special polymers, Teos exhibits superior properties such as scratch resistance, non-porous surfaces, and antibacterial features, making it ideal for various applications.
The compound quartz stone, with dimensions of 1520mm width, 20/30mm depth, and 3100mm height, is produced using advanced vibratory pressing under vacuum process, offering kitchen countertops and cut-to-size surface solutions.
Teos quartz surfaces are not only visually stunning but also boast high technology superior properties, making them easy to protect and maintain, with hygienic and antibacterial surfaces.
Teos quartz surfaces are composed of natural quartz aggregates and advanced polymers, making them hard, resilient, and four times more resistant to flexion than granite. The compacted structure of Teos makes it very hard and nonporous, eliminating the need for annual sealing, unlike natural granite and marble.
Teos is the result of extensive research and development, with the project commencing in 2017 at Belenco's research and development laboratory pilot plant. The product was launched in 2018 and has been available in the market, primarily in the USA, since then.
The design of Teos was driven by the challenge of the increasing rarity and cost of the Bianco Arabescato marble. By offering a more affordable, sustainable, and durable alternative, Teos presents stable opaque and transparent dual-color bases with unique log vein patterns on each slab, along with high chemical, physical, and abrasion resistance.
Esra Arıcı, along with Duygu Ãlmez and Arman Altınyay, played a pivotal role in the realization of the Teos project, which was awarded the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Building Materials and Construction Components Design category in 2020.
