Cloud Mansion: Redefining Modern Landscape Design

Jiayuan Zhang's Cloud Mansion reimagines traditional landscape design, capturing the intuitive features of clouds: light, clean, floating, and transparent. The 5080 sqm space integrates a business loop motion line while maintaining privacy and tranquility. The design employs space partition techniques to ensure transparency, soft transitions, and an independent atmosphere.

The use of dislocated feature walls, hollowed feature walls, and transparent blocks creates a unique dimension sense, while ultra-white glass, dark gray transparent glass, and rainbow glass meet various needs for angles and permeability. The waterscape dominates the space, featuring a calm water surface with a black marble base, reflecting the sky scene like a mirror, evoking a serene spatial temperament.

The project, which started in April 2020, is a testament to Zhang's innovative approach to landscape design, blending modernity with a deep appreciation for natural elements.

Cloud Mansion stands out with its unique approach to creating a quiet and light spatial temperament, setting it apart as a distinguished example of modern landscape design.

Jiayuan Zhang, along with Zhi Cheng and Kailing Xu, has successfully realized a design that balances aesthetics, spatial attributes, and commercial value, overcoming the challenges posed by the small site and conflicting requirements. The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2021, recognizing its outstanding innovation and technical excellence.
