Saiwen Liu's Smart Center at Meishan Mining

The Meishan Mining project, situated in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2023 for its exceptional Smart Center. The project, a reconstruction of an old plant, features a unique design that integrates the original buildings with hill-shaped corridors inspired by the surrounding mountains. The Smart Center is part of the government's plan to transform the site into an industrial heritage park, emphasizing both functionality and overall site aesthetics.

The Smart Center at Meishan Mining stands out for its innovative approach to repurposing the existing infrastructure while creating a visually striking and functional space. The incorporation of abstract mountain shapes and gray and white tones pays homage to the local landscape and traditional architecture, showcasing a blend of modern design and cultural inspiration.

Saiwen Liu, the designer behind the Smart Center, hails from Xi'an, China, and has skillfully combined technical expertise and artistic innovation to create a space that not only fulfills the requirements of a command center but also contributes to the overall ambiance of the industrial heritage park.
