Vison Xu's Guang Xi Culture Modern Museum

Vison Xu has unveiled the Guang Xi Culture Modern Museum, a unique restaurant design located inside Nanning's IKEA mall. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the project aims to provide an immersive user experience through a modern design technique that integrates traditional materials such as bamboo, Jin silks, and patterned fabrics into the space.

The restaurant's design is a modern interpretation of traditional culture, offering visitors the opportunity to engage with Guangxi culture in a contemporary setting. The project took five months to complete, and its location within the bustling IKEA mall ensures a high level of foot traffic and visibility.

One of the key features of the design is the incorporation of Zhuang brocade, a characteristic folk element of the local traditional culture. This material is used throughout the space to convey the spirit and emotional value of the region, allowing visitors to not only enjoy a meal but also to see, feel, and learn from the captivating culture of Guangxi.

Vison Xu's design also showcases a fusion of modern and traditional elements, with decorative materials including bamboo panels, volcanic slate, and stainless steel waves. The use of these materials adds a contemporary touch while maintaining a strong connection to the cultural roots of the region.

Furthermore, the design incorporates innovative technology and sustainable practices, such as the use of the shape of Guangxi Bamboo Raft for the roof structure and the simulation of natural light to create an authentic ambiance reflective of Guangxi's environment.

Vison Xu's Guang Xi Culture Modern Museum has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the project's exceptional incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
