Maggie Mo Jay Leung Unveils The Nude Flat, a Serene Cycladic Inspired Residential House

Maggie Mo Jay Leung, the highly acclaimed interior designer and founder of Starz Pasha Ltd, has unveiled The Nude Flat, a residential house inspired by the Cycladic culture. The project, completed in July 2022 in Hong Kong, embraces the core values of traditional Cycladic architecture, infusing curvaceous shapes and a neutral palette to create a serene and sensual living space.

Stepping into The Nude Flat, visitors are greeted by a curvaceous wall with a beige plastering stucco wall finish, incorporating an organic lotus-patterned wooden floor that reflects a sense of fluidity from the natural surroundings of the space. The design features a chandelier handmade by a Portuguese craftsman, contrasting with a detailed brass marble dinner table, creating a unique blend of contrasting lines and textures.

Inspired by the pin-up pink sand beaches in Crete, Greece, the design incorporates pink hue marble in the powder room and seamless artificial Ottostone for a streamlined effect on the curved wall. The bathroom features Calcutta marble and white, adding visual interest and brightness to the space.

The project, spanning 1,468 square meters, reconfigured the original three bedrooms to provide a generous main suite with an extravagant walk-in wardrobe and a wellness-inspired bathroom with a jacuzzi. The design team, including Maggie Mo, Jay Leung, and Vivian Cheung, overcame challenges such as custom-making round-edge furniture and replacing sharp corners with curved designs.

Maggie Mo Jay Leung's design philosophy of co-creation is reflected in The Nude Flat, where interior design and the user work together to create a narrative that tells a unique story within the space. The Nude Flat was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
