Li Zhongkai's Art Center "Yimeng Girl"

Inspired by the joy of fairies dancing in a colorful forest, Yimeng Girl is an art center designed by Li Zhongkai to provide a unique space for children to learn and grow. The design features a "new" fairy tale world under a folding arcade, creating an unknown "world" with elements of a fairytale castle, amusement park, and labyrinth kaleidoscope. The space includes grasslands, mountains, caves, and flowers, offering an authentic and adventurous experience for children.

Spanning 1000㎡, the art center utilizes plastic wall cloth, plastic floor, and the Great Wall board to realize the colorful forest theme. The project, located in Linyi, China, was completed in July 2021 and received the most creative design award at the Huading Awards of the Chinese Building and Decoration Association in September 2021.

Li Zhongkai's design overcame challenges posed by the original long and narrow space, resulting in a rational division of space, thoughtful color analysis, and the use of environmentally friendly materials. The art center aims to provide a place for children to fully experience the joy of an art space and walk through a corridor into their own world.
