Plus Collaboratives unveils Insecta Iridesse, a print sales catalogue that redefines the traditional approach to showcasing print quality, featuring 3D iridescent gem-like jewellery pieces.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Plus Collaboratives has unveiled a groundbreaking print sales catalogue, Insecta Iridesse, which challenges traditional print industry norms and showcases the capabilities of the Fujifilm Iridesse Production Press. Inspired by the practice of inspecting print quality through a loupe, the catalogue presents a narrative that invites customers to explore and inspect the quality and technicalities of the print effects.
The project disrupted conventional color and printing methods by presenting metallic print effects in the form of 3D iridescent gem-like jewellery pieces, resembling rare insect species and made almost entirely of paper printed with new ink. The catalogue's narrative serves as an explorer's journal, documenting the findings of these gem-like insects and showcasing the different print effects in a never-before-seen manner.
Measuring 285mm x 205mm x 30mm when closed, the catalogue opens to reveal folded maps, bus tickets, weather cards, fictional newspaper clippings, and more. It also includes thirty jewelry pieces, such as bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, ranging from 80mm x 100mm to the largest at 500mm x 20mm.
Furthermore, the project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Advertising, Marketing, and Communication Design in 2022, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
