Discover the Inspiration, Unique Properties, and Realization Technology Behind the Linear Refraction Series
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Ray Teng Pai introduces the Linear Refraction series, a stunning desk and ambiance light inspired by the mesmerizing phenomenon of rainbows. The crystal glass base refracts white light into a spectrum of colors, creating an exquisite art installation that seamlessly combines form and function. This unique lighting series is a customized addition to Hotel 35, located in Lishui, the capital of photography, and is the first design hotel in China to merge art village and tourism, creating a new business model.
Customized for Hotel 35, the Linear Refraction series is a contemporary composition of geometry that responds to the art of photography, creating a captivating ambiance within the hotel rooms. The design explores the relationship between time, space, and person under the theme of photography, offering a unique and immersive experience for guests.
The material of the light base is made from the highest quality crystal with a colorful sticker inner, sourced from Pujiang, the crystal kingdom of China. The light tube's materials are meticulously crafted in Taiwan and assembled manually, ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Featuring CRI 85 dimmable LED, touch switch and dimmer, and dimensions of 400mm x 300mm x 100mm, the Linear Refraction series offers both functionality and aesthetic appeal, making it a standout addition to Hotel 35's innovative design concept.
Ray Teng Pai, along with Shu Ching Wu, has meticulously designed the Linear Refraction series to offer two modes of usage. When positioned horizontally, it serves as an adjustable reading light, while in a vertical orientation, it illuminates from within the crystal glass base, creating a colorful fantasy atmosphere. The light can be easily controlled with a touch, allowing users to adjust brightness and color to suit their preferences.
The project commenced in October 2019 in Taipei and was completed in March 2020 in Lishui, marking a significant milestone in the fusion of art, design, and hospitality.
Ray Teng Pai's dedication to merging sensibility and rationality has resulted in a design that challenges the limits of manufacturing art, seamlessly blending traditional craft with unique conception. The Linear Refraction series not only embodies artistic value but also offers practical functionality, showcasing the designer's commitment to excellence and innovation.
