Unveiling a Luminaire Inspired by the Earth's Solar Course
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nicolle Nogueira and Katherine Heim Weber present "Dot," a pendant lamp design inspired by the earth's solar system course. Each pendant defies gravity and symmetry in harmony, with a sphere-shaped point of light inside a canoe-shaped base, supported by an angled stem. The earthy tone recalls our planet, the designers' greatest inspiration.
The luminaire, made of steel and glass, offers non-directed lighting and visual comfort, creating a cozy atmosphere. Customizable for each specific space composition, Dot provides a dynamic and unique lighting experience.
Developed in a short period for a decoration show, Dot received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
The project was developed in a short period to be presented in a decoration show. Between research, creation, and production, the time was 1 month.
After being invited to create an environment in an Interior Architecture exhibition with great recognition in Brazil, we conceptualized the space focused on creating a cozy atmosphere, with Brazilian design pieces and a mixture of natural materials and technology.
The luminaire is a set of pendants that defy gravity and symmetry in harmony. Each pendant has a canoe-shaped base, supported by an angled stem. Inside the base is a sphere-shaped point of light. The lamp's earthy tone is reminiscent of the earth, our biggest design inspiration. The final composition was developed harmoniously from the existing look of the environment, presenting the points of light in different ways. For us, light makes all the difference in a space. So creating a lamp with a subtle and light light brings comfort and well-being to people's daily lives.
