WATARU OMAMEUDA unveils a groundbreaking hybrid hotel concept in the heart of Tokyo, redefining the hospitality experience with innovative design and functionality.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WATARU OMAMEUDA's Bay Tokyo Hamamatsucho is a revolutionary hybrid hotel concept, strategically located in the vibrant Hamamatsucho area of Tokyo. Inspired by the surge in inbound tourism and the upcoming Olympic Games, this visionary project transforms a planned condominium site into a cutting-edge hotel, catering to the evolving needs of modern travelers.
This innovative hotel boasts a unique blend of capsule beds and guest rooms, offering diverse accommodation styles for business trips, sightseeing, and foreign tourists visiting Japan. Each guest room features a spacious 2-meter square window, providing an expansive view of the town and creating an open, inviting ambiance. The hotel's common spaces, including the kitchen and rooftop areas, are designed to foster relaxation, culinary experiences, and communal interactions, setting a new standard for urban hospitality.
Constructed using state-of-the-art steel frame and extrusion molded cement technologies, Bay Tokyo Hamamatsucho spans 10 floors above ground, with a total floor area of 1,298.21 square meters. This architectural marvel embodies the keywords of "brightness," "share community," "scale design," "town void," and "small urban hotel," reflecting a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to redefining the hotel experience.
WATARU OMAMEUDA's design team, led by Wataru Omameuda and Daisuke Kusumoto, overcame the challenge of maximizing space in a small urban setting, leveraging the concept of "town VOID," "guest room SCALE design," and "share COMMUNITY" to create a new paradigm of hotel living. The project's duration, spanning from January 2018 to January 2020, reflects the extensive research and meticulous planning that went into realizing this visionary concept.
Bay Tokyo Hamamatsucho represents a culmination of WATARU OMAMEUDA's commitment to "designing connections" and creating spaces that foster a sense of community and comfort. This project not only reimagines the traditional hotel experience but also sets a new benchmark for urban hospitality, offering a refreshing blend of functionality, aesthetics, and communal living.
