Ying Li's Daphne Brooch and Pendant, Inspired by Greek Mythology, Wins Bronze A' Design Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Daphne Brooch and Pendant by Ying Li

Ying Li's Daphne brooch and pendant, inspired by the love story of Daphne turning into a laurel tree, has won the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023. The multifunctional piece of jewelry features a 10.745ct natural rupee red tourmaline from Brazil, set in 18K white gold with diamonds and mother-of-pearl. The design integrates elements of the laurel leaf and the moon, symbolizing love in Chinese culture.

The project, which started in October 2019 and finished in January 2020 in Yunnan, China, posed challenges in expressing the theme to Chinese audiences due to the lesser-known nature of the Daphne love story in China. However, Ying Li successfully integrated the laurel leaf and moon elements to create a unique piece of jewelry that can be worn as a brooch or a pendant.

Ying Li, an experienced jewelry designer from Ruili, Dehong, Yunnan, specializes in bespoke jewelry design and aims to convey different concepts and stories through her designs, providing wearers with a unique experience.
