Light Phone II offers a refreshing alternative to smartphone distractions, empowering users to connect on their own terms

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Light Phone II: Redefining Connectivity with Intentional Design

Light Phone II, designed by Kaiwei Tang and Joe Hollier, is a simple, 4G LTE phone with a beautiful black & white E-ink display. It is meticulously crafted to minimize distractions, featuring essential tools such as calling, messaging, and an alarm clock, with additional features like ride-sharing and music. The phone, launched on Indiegogo in March 2019 and based in Brooklyn, NY, began shipping on September 4th, 2019.

The E-ink display, with its low power requirements and durability, eliminates the need for a backlight, reducing eye strain and ensuring legibility in direct sunlight. The phone is lightweight, splash-resistant, and designed to fit comfortably in a pocket. It operates on a custom Light OS, allowing users full control over essential tools. Light Phone II challenges the norm by offering a method to enjoy experiences in the moment, free from constant digital consumption.

Recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2020, Light Phone II is celebrated for its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world. It rethinks the phone experience by integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing a refreshing and freeing tool for users to "go light" more often.
