Miyajima Insurance, a local insurance supplying office, unveils a groundbreaking design concept aimed at connecting the office with the city, enhancing customer confidence and transparency.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Miyajima Insurance's new office space redefines the traditional concept of an office, aiming to establish a strong connection with the city. The innovative design concept, created by Shinya Nomiyama of Space Orchestra, features a unique "tunnel" design that seamlessly integrates the office with the urban environment, offering visitors a transparent view of the office's inner workings and the surrounding cityscape.
The design incorporates carefully crafted details, such as vertical lines and a "Japanese Shakkei" inspired hexagonal table with plants, blurring the boundaries between the interior and exterior spaces. The use of wood, glass, steel, and other materials complements the design, creating a harmonious blend of modernity and tradition.
Located in Fukuoka, Japan, the project commenced in June 2018 and was completed in October 2019. The office's strategic hilltop location provides a panoramic view of the city, serving as a key inspiration for the design. Overcoming challenges posed by the site's varying elevations, the design team successfully created a space that emphasizes the connection between the office and its surroundings.
