Atsushi Hio Unveils Glass Wall, a Reinforced Concrete Residential House in Himeji, Japan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Architect Atsushi Hio introduces "Glass Wall," a unique residential house nestled in the quiet luxury residential area of Himeji, Japan. The design harmonizes modern luxury with the rustic charm of its surroundings, offering a comfortable and visually stunning living space. The house, built in 2022, features a reinforced concrete structure, earthquake resistance, and a captivating glass wall that illuminates the interior with natural light, creating a seamless blend of modern lifestyle and nature-inspired design.
The client's emphasis on privacy and effective use of the land's elevation led to the adoption of a reinforced concrete structure, ensuring both spacious interiors and earthquake resistance. The house's front showcases three box shapes at varying heights, breaking away from monotony, with a section adorned by a glass wall that houses an atrium space emitting a fantastic light. The lighting fixtures serve as iconic elements of the building, adding to its allure.
To maximize interior space and ensure earthquake resistance, reinforced concrete structures were employed, while the front appearance was divided into three box shapes to avoid monotony. The glass wall and the transfer of cedar board's wood grain to the concrete wall contribute to a warm and inviting interior, complementing the modern design with a touch of nature.
