Discover the innovative Shi tea tray, designed by Gang Wang, a unique blend of natural stone and aluminum, redefining the art of tea-making.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Gang Wang's Shi tea tray is a revolutionary blend of natural stone and aluminum, designed to enhance the tea-making experience. The tray features a drop-shaped design with a 1.6 cm height difference, cleverly separating dry and wet areas for tea preparation. The concave surface allows for efficient drainage, while visually prompting the user to empty the tray when tea overflows.
Unlike traditional tea trays, Shi's unique design integrates a plane and concave, inspired by the tension of a bridge, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The innovative use of materials and shape creates a visually striking and practical tea-making essential.
Shi is crafted using advanced technologies such as CNC and water knife cutting for the natural stone, along with die drawing and cutting for the aluminum, resulting in a seamless blend of form and function. The product dimensions are Width 140mm x Depth 600mm x Height 40mm, with a package size of Width 260mm x Depth 700mm x Height 80mm.
Gang Wang's design team, including Guokun Wang, Chenghua Pan, and Xinya Feng, contributed to the realization of the Shi tea tray, which was developed in Xiamen and exhibited in Shanghai in 2019.
The innovative design of Shi stems from extensive research, including user interviews, focus groups, and product usability testing, all aimed at simplifying user behavior through a minimalist form. Overcoming challenges in curvature and drainage efficiency, the team successfully created a tea tray that combines simplicity, functionality, and visual appeal.
Gang Wang, a national model teacher and a prolific designer with numerous accolades, has once again showcased his design prowess with the award-winning Shi tea tray. This design has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award, recognizing its exceptional creativity and contribution to enhancing the tea-making experience.
