Bow Lamp by Davide Mezzasalma

Davide Mezzasalma introduces the Bow lamp, a stunning lighting creation that combines the natural beauty of bent ash wood with innovative LED technology. The lamp's unique design conceals an LED light rail, only revealed when the integrated touch switch is pressed, creating a magical and mesmerizing effect. Mezzasalma's meticulous experimentation and research have resulted in a modular, magnetic, and minimalistic lamp that can be adapted into various configurations, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The lamp's body is crafted through a lamination process, where thin 1mm slices of ash wood are pressed and glued in a mold. The dimmable LED railing emits 6W of power, equivalent to a 40-watt standard bulb, making it ideal for use as a reading lamp. Measuring 55mm in width, 500mm in length (excluding connectors and support), and 13mm in thickness, the Bow lamp embodies a perfect blend of form and function.

Mezzasalma's dedication to pushing the boundaries of material properties led to the creation of 24 prototypes, each contributing to the lamp's refined design. The lamp's ability to adhere to iron surfaces or dedicated supports, coupled with its potential for transformation into a multi-part floor or pendant luminaire, showcases its versatility and adaptability.
