Tokyo Clutch Bag: Hand-Embossed, 3D-Diamond Structure

von rauten's Tokyo Clutch Bag, designed by Imme Vogel, is a unique and award-winning creation. Inspired by Japanese Origami and folded systems, the bag features hand-embossed surfaces with a 3D-diamond structure, setting it apart from others in the market. The leather imprinting is meticulously handmade, and the bag includes hidden magnets on the side to delicately shape the zipper for a perfect finish. The Tokyo Collection is multi-awarded, and the design is protected by copyright and EU IPO design protection.

Imme Vogel and her team overcame challenges in creating the Clutch Bag, including developing new methods of leather pleating and ensuring the leather remained stitch-free, soft, and flexible while maintaining a permanent embossing. The result is a high-quality cow nappa leather bag with a mineral tanning, measuring 22cm in length, 7cm in width, and 11cm in height.

The Tokyo Collection began in 2016 in Mannheim, with the Clutch Bag being prototyped and finished in spring 2018. In September 2019, the Tokyo Clutch Bag won the 3rd place in BEST OF FASHION at ILM Offenbach. Imme Vogel, an architect and product designer, is the creative mind behind von rauten, a brand that aims to create new minimalist luxury with an iconic structure.
