Risefit: Outdoor Fitness Series

Akin Budakoglu introduces Risefit, an outdoor fitness series designed to meet the demand for open-air workout sessions and provide a gym-like environment for individuals, while considering the challenges of the pandemic. The series aims to offer a strong and energetic feeling, matching demanding physical training goals with consideration of fitness level or ability.

The design process involved ideation sketches for the outer shell and research for the stations. Risefit is constructed with bend steel pipes, metal die-cast X and Y modules, and plastic injection molded parts for handles. The steel structure is designed with a modular system for easy assembly on the field and an oven dying process in mind.

Risefit is designed to focus on cross-training and calisthenics, suitable for high-intensity interval training (HIIT), core workout, and strengthening. It features options for boxing, kettlebell, and rope climbing, as well as bodyweight training stations. Each workout model includes an explanation plate with interface graphics for guidance.

The project started in June 2022 and was completed in September 2022. The production of molding and manufacturing fixtures will be ready in 2022, with mass production planned to begin in early 2023.

After extensive research dedicated to indoor fitness, calisthenics, and outdoor fitness user habits and needs, the design team established the essential equipment. The decision-making process involved interaction with people and experienced fitness coaches to meet the needs of individuals working out constantly and periodically.

The Risefit outdoor fitness series was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
