Liangfeng Hu's Xi Space: A Fusion of Culture, Art, and Lifestyle

Liangfeng Hu's Xi Space is a captivating tea house design that draws inspiration from the profound words of Mihoko Koyama, a Japanese collector and owner of the Miho Museum. The design is a manifestation of Hu's desire to create a personal collection space that reflects his love for tea ware, calligraphy, and paintings, echoing Koyama's belief that beauty can enrich human experiences and elevate the mind.

What sets Xi Space apart is its embodiment of Hu's lifestyle and aspirations, seamlessly integrating a tearoom, space, branding, and collection. The design is a testament to Hu's dedication to infusing everyday objects with spiritual significance, creating a space that resonates with his innermost desires.

Constructed using a blend of bricks, paintings, woods, and marble, Xi Space spans an area of 110 square meters, offering a serene and culturally rich environment for visitors to immerse themselves in.

Step by step, Hu meticulously planned and executed the design, from the initial space planning and detailed design schemes to the supervision of the construction process. The result is a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, inviting guests to partake in the ritual of appreciating beauty and culture.

Xi Space was brought to life in Ningbo, China, over the course of five months in 2018, showcasing Hu's commitment to creating a space that transcends the ordinary and offers a haven for relaxation, work, and sharing cherished items with friends.

Throughout the design process, Hu faced the challenge of infusing daily spaces with a sense of ritual, aiming to showcase collections while conveying profound spiritual ideas. His ultimate goal was to create a space that fosters a delicate relationship between people and objects, serving as a sanctuary for treasured memories and emotional sustenance.

As a testament to its exceptional design, Xi Space was honored with the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding creativity, technical prowess, and innovative approach.
