"Solo" - A Unique Fusion of Contemporary and Bali Styles

Syuan-Ta Chiu's "Solo" project is a testament to the fusion of contemporary and Bali styles, creating a vital, relaxing, and modern aesthetic house. The 298 square-meter apartment features a long and narrow layout, symmetrically divided into 13 areas, including the public space, dining room, kitchen, and master and second bedroom. The central public space is adorned with a captivating white piano, adding a touch of elegance and musical charm to the environment.

The foyer, enclosed by clear grey glass, serves as an intermediate space connecting the contemporary-style public area and the exotic Bali-style master bedroom, brilliantly sustaining both independence and visual transparency. The design incorporates unique elements such as the TV wall adorned with exclusive paints and lines, the bar counter creating a laid-back aura, and the arrangements of sofa and stereoscopic wood walls signifying space rhythms.

The master bedroom is a masterpiece of natural wooden veneers, artistic iron grilles, and concrete ceiling textures, exuding primitive charisma and exotic charm reminiscent of a villa in Bali. The project, completed on the 1st of October 2018, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020, recognizing its outstanding creativity and ingenious design.
