FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Page Li's "Feather" design project is a remarkable transformation of a two-story building into an open plan maisonette, completed in June 2021 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The project aimed to create a cozy, tidy living space with smooth flow and fluidity, utilizing a cohesive black and white color palette to build a pure space and visual enjoyment. The designer's strong belief in the uplifting power of a clear space led to the removal of busy layouts, intuitive flow, and neutralized lighting and tones to provide residents with a comfortable home to relax.
To relieve the oppression from low ceilings and complex partitions, the designer introduced a slightly lifted floor between the living room and the balcony, extending the height to the stairs to eliminate uneven floors and create fluidity. The meandering style of the stairs elongates the sight and enhances the overall fluidity of the space. The project covers an area of 110.6 square meters and features green materials for flooring and wall coatings, along with efficient linear lighting to minimize energy consumption.
The design project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature that meets professional and industrial requirements. The project successfully integrates industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world through fulfillment and positive feelings.
