ZarrinMoayery Studio introduces Captain Lounge, a unique hospitality and restaurant space in Tehran, Iran, reflecting an industrial ship atmosphere.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ZarrinMoayery Studio has unveiled the Captain Lounge, a distinctive hospitality and restaurant space located in the heart of Tehran, Iran. The design concept draws inspiration from the name "Captain" and the industrial palette of ship materials, resulting in a unique fusion of industrial design and hospitality.
The 15,000 SF area is divided into four and a half levels, including a basement with a kitchen and administrative offices, a main dining area on the ground level, two small private lounges, a non-alcoholic bar and lounge on the first story, and a rooftop garden. The design incorporates a variety of spaces, catering to different demographic groups in the city.
The interior space features warm textures and colors, with a deliberate departure from minimal smooth surfaces. Notable elements include large circular light fixtures, ropes, and a ship-like non-alcoholic bar with ample space for stools. The design also emphasizes the use of outdoor space, with a rooftop garden adorned with plants to enhance the guest experience.
Lead Architects Maryam Moayery Nia, Hamed Zarrinkamari, and Masoud Moayerynia, along with General Contractor Behrang Baharbin from FORM & FUNCTION GROUP, have brought this unique vision to life. The project's schematic design commenced in August 2017, with construction completed in April 2018.
ZarrinMoayery Studio's Captain Lounge has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. The design has been lauded for its innovative approach, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology to create a unique and memorable hospitality experience.
