Xiutao FU's "The Moment" Calendar: A Poetic Representation of Time

Xiutao FU's "The Moment" calendar is a unique 2020 calendar that aims to remind people to enjoy the present moment, inspired by the ancient wisdom of Chinese 24 Solar Terms and Ecclesiastes in the Bible. The calendar features a new design expression to present the past, present, and future, with the month printed in the center of the page and the date shown on a gradient arc. As the dates and arcs rotate clockwise around the center, they fade away due to the translucent paper, poetically illustrating the eternity of time as a series of present moments.

Based on the concept of enjoying the moment, the calendar also features the Chinese 24 solar terms and daily mottos to strengthen the concept and remind people to cherish the present. The interaction with the calendar involves tearing off a page, symbolizing the passage of time, and seeing the translucent pages indistinctly, representing the coming days. Users can also witness the rotation of the gradient arc when flipping through the calendar pages quickly, creating a frame-by-frame animation effect.

The calendar is produced using high-level printing and manufacturing technologies, with strict control over temperature and humidity throughout the process. Color testing for the pages of solar terms was carried out in multiple rounds to ensure accuracy, and the high requirements for folding and binding ensure paper alignment for design excellence. The easily-torn line on each page provides a smooth user experience.
