Kai-Bo Chen's Cultural Eleganza project is a 291 square meter residence that seamlessly blends Japanese and Nordic styles, offering a comfortable and cozy living space. The design, completed in June 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan, draws inspiration from the surrounding natural landscape, incorporating elements of nature to create a serene and inviting atmosphere. The use of diverse building materials, furniture, and lighting creates an artistic and cultural lifestyle, while promoting sustainability and energy-saving concepts.
The residence features a mixed style of Japanese and Nordic design, with natural light dancing through the space, creating ever-changing patterns and a soft, natural ambiance. Multiple balcony windows keep the airflow fluid, allowing residents to live in nature and escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. The project emphasizes energy and water conservation, as well as smart designs for life and health, promoting a safer, more comfortable, and more convenient lifestyle.
With the application of natural elements and the reduction of accessories, the designer conveys the spiritual characteristics of the residents through displaying their artworks. The public area features a refreshing cleanness with a gray-white color palette and touches of wooden and earthy colors, while the study incorporates organic wood to soften the atmosphere. The large wooden bookcase provides ample space for art and book collections, creating a symmetrical and harmonious visual effect.
