Reflecting on Life and Enlightening New Directions
Journey Architecture's Bounteous Mind and Life project reimagines urban renewal by infusing old buildings with new purpose. Drawing inspiration from Japanese aesthetics of shadows, tea ceremony, and temple culture, the design creates a serene atmosphere that stimulates the senses and metaphorizes the various states of life.
The 380ã¡ space features elongated lines and the scent of tea, inviting visitors to reflect on the value of life and enlightening the direction of new life. The project incorporates the image of meditation, creating a meditative space open to the public in the heart of the city.
Utilizing the concept of wabi-sabi, the exterior exudes simplicity, while the interior embraces darkness, urging observers to contemplate their soul state. The project aims to create a retreat spot for uplifting meditation, offering an opportunity for individuals to engage in a dialogue with themselves.
