Residence Design by Derson Chiu

Award-winning designer Derson Chiu unveils "Sun Bathed Greenery," a modern residential project completed in October 2018 in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Inspired by boutique hotels experienced during the client's travels, the design incorporates a neutral color tone and simple modern elements to create a serene ambiance.

With a focus on practical functions and aesthetic living, the design features a minimalist approach with a black, beige, and grey-scale color scheme. Large-area windows maximize natural lighting and offer a vista of the green park, creating an open and flowing space for the public domain.

The elegant space is realized with smooth steel-brushed timber veneer, special paint, marble-patterned artificial masonry slate, and imported tiles. The entrance features a half-transparent space defined by timber grille, leading to ultra scratch-proof timber floors and a visually striking viewing wall of special paint at the far end.

Derson Chiu's design team overcame challenges in creating the unique visual layers and high-quality finishes, resulting in a warm and culturally enriched residential space that reflects the client's environmentally conscious values.
