The award-winning Ceramic Forest office design by I Ju Chan and Hsuan Yi Chen, completed in October 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan, has been honored with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 for its innovative approach to office and showroom design.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Ceramic Forest office design, located in Neihu, Taipei, was inspired by the symbolism of kilns and the warm, stern beauty of ceramic. The office space, designed for Nobel Ceramic and Tiles, features a blend of grey-scale colors, LED lighting, and motifs of Taiwanese Folk Art, creating a visually striking and functional workspace.
The office space, covering 514 square meters, incorporates elements such as white wall cabinets, grey Bolon carpet, and black metalwork, reflecting the brand's core values and creating a quiet working environment with Mexin ceiling and Bolon carpet for acoustic considerations.
The design also includes supervisor offices strategically placed near windows for ample natural lighting, while areas such as the server room, dark room, and accounting office are allocated at the side, and the VP office, legal office, and staff working area are located at the inner area.
As a merchandise showroom, the space serves as a museum of exquisitely made objects, ideal for product introduction and sales discussions, with a design that goes beyond the conventional nature of normal space, injecting brand characteristics into every segment.
The design team, including I Ju Chan, Hsuan Yi Chen, and Su Huang Hung, overcame challenges related to spatial expression, product display, and sample storage, resulting in a visually comfortable environment that enhances working productivity and transforms working areas into artistic spaces.
The Ceramic Forest office design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious approach to interior space, retail, and exhibition design, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
