Hotel Home: Redefining Luxury Living

Pei Ru Tsai's Hotel Home project is a stunning 290 square meters residence in Kaohsiung, designed to evoke the elegance and comfort of a hotel while providing a functional and luxurious living space for a couple and their two sons. The design features a sophisticated "hotel style" aesthetic, characterized by earthy tones, wallpaper, stretch cloth, iron pieces, and titanium plating metal, creating a sense of grandeur and elegance.

The unique strength of this design lies in its ability to maintain a low-key and elegant style without the use of marble, catering to the owner's preference for both luxury and ease of maintenance. Dark brown glass and wood skin, along with stretch cloth and titanium plating metal, contribute to the creation of a graceful and refined atmosphere within the space.

Utilizing a combination of elements such as wallpaper, iron pieces, titanium plated metal, Bolon carpet, and innovative ceiling designs, the project achieves a restrained grandeur, elegance, and comfort reminiscent of a high-end hotel. The designer's attention to detail is evident in the skillful use of ceiling height variations to conceal air conditioning units and create a seamless, uncluttered space.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Hotel Home project is its adaptability to the family's evolving needs. The designer has incorporated thoughtful elements, such as specially designed commodity shelves in the game room, which can be transformed into general storage shelves as the children grow older. This foresight ensures that the space remains functional and relevant as the family dynamics change over time.

The project, which commenced in March 2021, presented several challenges, including the need to address the abrupt beams in the living and dining areas. Through innovative design techniques, such as lifting the ceiling height and creating exquisite arc outlines, the designer successfully overcame these challenges, enhancing the spatial ambiance and addressing the initial design constraints.

Pei Ru Tsai's Hotel Home project has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This accolade acknowledges the project's outstanding creativity, technical skill, and its contribution to enhancing the quality of life through innovative design practices.
