Shi Jie Zhou Unveils "The Family Bonding" - A Modern Residence Design Completed in July 2021 in Chiayi City, Taiwan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Shi Jie Zhou has unveiled "The Family Bonding," a modern residence design completed in July 2021 in Chiayi City, Taiwan. The project, spanning 396.6 square meters, embodies an elegant and refined modern aesthetic, featuring a color palette of black, white, gray, and brown, with textured lines of stone and wood creating a unique spatial focus. The design is a house located halfway up the mountain, serving as the homeownerâs future retirement home and a guest house.
Upon entering the residence, visitors are greeted by a distinctive upward sloping curved ceiling that extends from the entrance to the living and dining room, creating a visually expansive space. The living room features flowing marble floor tiles, adding dynamism to the static carriers, and is colored in taupe with wood grains and black objects to convey a simple texture. The intentional separation of the white marbled TV wall cabinet creates an artistic framing effect, enhancing visual penetration.
The living and dining room interface showcases a dark stone wall combined with a fireplace design, exuding a warm and calm atmosphere. The dining room, with wooden flooring, features a unique combination of a wine cabinet, fireplace, and heat insulation design, creating a romantic and relaxing atmosphere for diners to enjoy food and wine while looking out the window.
Notably, the kitchen integrates a center island bar with a geomancy fish tank, ingeniously creating a practical end-view art space. The design also cleverly utilizes misplaced space, such as installing a hidden pull-out cabinet along the wood-grained wall to meet the homeowner's storage needs.
Shi Jie Zhou's "The Family Bonding" design was awarded Bronze in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious approach that contributes to quality of life improvements.
