Julie Conway's Fractured is a statement on finding peace and tranquility in our demanding modern world, showcased at the Bellevue Arts Museum from November 9, 2018, to April 14, 2019.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Julie Conway's Fractured is a captivating wall/room installation featuring 19 individual parts of hot blown glass, finished with 24K hammered gold leaf or silver chrome mirror. The installation, showcased at the Bellevue Arts Museum, is a testament to the challenges of modern society and the pursuit of inner peace.
This spectacular environment is designed to reflect and refract light, creating a mesmerizing experience for visitors. The diamond-shaped glass components symbolize the preciousness of life, while broken mirrors and lighting elements add depth and complexity to the installation.
Fractured was a feature site-specific installation at the Bellevue Arts Museum in Washington State for the Glass Biennial "Glasstastic" and was the recipient of the LIT Awards Artisan Blown Glass 2018. The installation challenges viewers to find their reflection in the bent and broken mirrors, symbolizing the journey through life's challenges.
