Curved Apartment Design by Ding Jia Chen / Yu Chiao Chou

Transcendent Living Designs introduces Groove Dance, a 165 square meter apartment in Taichung City, Taiwan, completed in October 2020. The design is inspired by the rhythm of groove dance, incorporating irregular curved lines, layered ceilings, and sloping flooring patterns to create a visual effect of groove in the space.

The entire space is designed on curved lines, using a smooth and elegant curved structure to shape the ceiling, integrating different areas in the apartment. The curved and slanted lines create directionality, guide movement, and change the sense of dimensionality and hierarchy, breaking the original square shape and rigidity with smooth lines.

The apartment features three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a dressing room, and three bathrooms. The master bedroom includes a curved design to create a gentle embrace around the bed, with bronze metallic material and blue reflective bandage creating a dance floor-like effect.

Located in Taichung City, the apartment's construction began in May 2020 and was completed in October 2020. The design incorporates movable curved glass doors to enhance the versatility of the space, allowing rooms to be connected or closed off as needed.

The ceiling is designed with three different heights to improve the visual rhythm and create a sense of movement. Through lighting design and reflection of materials, the space creates a natural and lively dance effect, bringing out a modern sense of style.

Transcendent Living Designs is proud to announce that Groove Dance has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023.
