Office Transformation Showcases Natural and Sedate Design

WEN HSUAN TAI, a renowned designer, has successfully transformed a 66 square meter space into a rustic and sedate office, named Proto Headquarter, in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design inspiration draws from the Mayan culture, emulating the natural criterion and peacefully coexisting with the primitive features of the space. The office exudes a serene ambiance while retaining the original texture of the materials, creating a spatial property that is both orderly and proper.

The unique properties of the office lie in its ability to preserve the original building mass and texture, presenting vivid patterns through the twist and turn of the main axis. The space utilizes natural wood and bright hues to establish a solid yet genial environment, following the natural precedent of functional configuration. The use of deep and shallow tinge contrasting materials adds depth and character to the space.

The realization of the design involved meticulous material selection to present the distinct outline of the space. The designer made use of cement and steel structures with coarse textures, along with fine and glossy solid wood veneer. The interplay of these materials, through staggered projection, leads to varied changes of light and shadow, introducing a timeless phenomenon.

Proto Headquarter, as an office interspace, prioritizes coziness for both staff and guests. The space aims to convey a pure and firm soul, manifesting the inner quality of the office environment. The project commenced in February 2019 and was completed in March 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan. It was exhibited in April 2019, showcasing the successful transformation of the space.

WEN HSUAN TAI's design was awarded Bronze in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, recognizing the outstanding and creatively ingenious transformation of the office space. The design showcases a harmonious blend of natural, sedate, and unbounded elements, creating a unique and inviting working area.
