Joris Beets, a renowned designer and inventor, has unveiled Harp E, the world's most affordable professional-grade electro-acoustic harp. Inspired by the lack of accessible, high-quality harps for students, Beets embarked on a mission to democratize the instrument, breaking the cycle of elitism and high prices that have traditionally surrounded harps.

Harp E boasts a complete structural redesign, featuring a revolutionary lever system that reduces hundreds of metal parts to just two, resulting in a simple, elegant, flat-pack, self-assembly instrument. This innovative approach makes the harp portable, stackable, adjustable, and significantly more affordable than traditional harps, without compromising on quality.

The instrument's unique properties include a superior sound, thanks to a custom-designed pickup and preamp system, as well as 24 SilkGut strings fully levered, and a self-shielding sensor that ensures high signal-to-noise ratio and zero latency. Additionally, Harp E offers a world of interaction modes and sound possibilities, making it a versatile and accessible instrument for musicians of all levels.

Designed between London and Amsterdam, Harp E has undergone extensive research and testing, involving teachers, students, parents, and harpists to ensure it meets the complex and contradicting requirements of various user groups. The project culminated in a successful crowdfunding campaign, with 300 prototypes distributed by a Dutch charity and subsequent availability for direct purchase online.
