FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Isabelle Zhao Peng, a renowned award-winning designer, has unveiled the Beijing Club, a modern Chinese luxury clubhouse that seamlessly blends traditional architecture with modern craftsmanship. The project, which commenced in November 2018 and concluded in June 2019, is a testament to Isabelle's dedication to creating spaces that inspire poetic living.
The inspiration for the Beijing Club stems from Isabelle's poetic living research project, which aims to encourage individuals to embrace a poetic mindset in their daily lives. Drawing from Chinese traditional architecture, the design incorporates a unique layout and structure that isolates external noise, with a central courtyard providing a vital space for connecting with nature and the universe.
What sets the Beijing Club apart is its approach to coexisting the old and the new, allowing the original structure to shine while integrating modern elements. The design emphasizes the flow within the space, rather than focusing solely on individual architectural components.
Utilizing a careful treatment of contact surfaces, the design incorporates materials such as lacquer, mosaic, stucco, laminated glass, wooden veneer, wooden floor, brick, and stainless steel. The 400 sqm space, including the courtyard, interacts with all areas imperceptibly, influenced by seasonal changes and events.
Isabelle Zhao Peng's dedication to the project is evident in her meticulous research and attention to detail. The project posed challenges in merging the existing and the modern, creating a new atmosphere within the courtyard, and designing the flow of the space. However, Isabelle's vision and expertise have resulted in a stunning fusion of tradition and modernity.
Photographer Zhu Hai has captured the essence of the Beijing Club, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design that define the space. The copyrights of the design belong to IK Design, 2019.
