Forest Path-Inspired High-End Hair Salon

Jao-Wen Shao introduces "Path of Daylight," a high-end hair salon in Taichung City, Taiwan, redefining salon spaces with a nature-inspired design. The salon, completed in March 2020, is a serene and exquisite space that draws inspiration from forest paths, creating a peaceful ambiance.

The salon's unique design features four distinct areas, including a public space and three salon boxes with different styles, catering to the high-end client service purpose. The "urban gentlemen," "socialites," and "modern metropolis" boxes are designed with a combination of original and new materials, creating a textured and visually appealing environment.

Path of Daylight is realized using a combination of materials such as glasses, hardware, painted solid wood, mirrors, light screens, and plastic tiles. The 100 ping indoor area encompasses the public space hallway, reservation counter, and private hair salon boxes, each meticulously designed to offer a unique experience.

The salon's entrance design seamlessly merges ironware and light-glass materials to create a light and transparent ambiance, echoing the concept of a cabin in the woods. The spacious traffic flow allows customers to move freely, even during rainy weather, providing both aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Jao-Wen Shao's design for Path of Daylight has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022, highlighting its practical and innovative approach that meets professional and industrial requirements.
