FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sophia Neill's Czero

Sophia Neill's Czero is a revolutionary wearable device designed to reduce the transmission of viral infections, particularly relevant in the current global crisis. The device vibrates when the user's hand is near their face, reminding them not to touch it, thus significantly reducing the spread of infections. This innovative product utilizes existing technology in a new way and tracks the user's health, providing early alerts for potential infections.

The Czero project was completed by Sophia Neill, a third-year Industrial design student at Victoria University of Wellington, during the Covid 19 lockdown period in New Zealand. The design was inspired by the rapid transmission rate of Covid 19 and Influenza viruses, aiming to address the threat posed by these infections in the absence of vaccinations or cures.

The wearable device is equipped with a transmitter, receiver, vibrator, Photoplethysmography sensor (PPG), Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) sensor, Arduino, and battery. It is linked to an app that tracks the user's health and provides alerts for hand hygiene. The discreet and aesthetically pleasing design sets it apart from traditional healthcare products, making it suitable for a large target audience, especially travelers.
