Travel and Happy Things by Wen Lung Cho

Renowned illustrator Wen Lung Cho has unveiled a captivating new series of illustrations titled "Travel and Happy Things." Inspired by the longing for freedom and the joy of travel amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Cho's vibrant illustrations beautifully capture the essence of carefree moments and the beauty of life experiences.

Cho's unique illustrations are distinguished by their portrayal of both the collective joy of traditional harvest festivals and the individual delight of solo travel. The colorful depictions exude a sense of relaxation, happiness, and beauty, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the joyful scenes.

Using acrylic paint, Cho's handmade paintings bring to life the vivid and waterproof nature of the medium, ensuring that the illustrations retain their vibrancy and charm. The series, with dimensions of 145mm in height and 100mm in width, offers a delightful visual experience for art enthusiasts and travelers alike.

Beginning the project in February 2020 in Taipei, Cho's research for the illustrations was deeply personal, drawing from his own experiences, music, and exhibition visits, as well as online sources. The resulting series serves as a reminder of the importance of joy and culture, both in personal lives and broader societal contexts.

Wen Lung Cho, a passionate traveler and illustrator from Taipei, Taiwan, has been recognized for his outstanding work with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2022. His creations, characterized by their innovative and practical design, have been lauded for their ability to evoke positive emotions and contribute to a better world.
