Residential Space Designed by Li-Ming Cheng

Li-Ming Cheng's Magnificent Simplicity project is a unique blend of modern simplicity and eastern artistic conception, creating a healthy and lively living environment. The space is divided into different sections, each with its own functionality, yet interconnected to form a stable and independent whole. The dining area features sophisticated wood grains, exuding a mild ceremonial sense, while the bright and serene living room signifies wonderful moments of companionship and past memories. The entire home is adorned with mellow and natural wood veneers, eco-friendly paints, and high-quality LEDs, ensuring a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing living space.

The project, completed in May 2020 in Taoyuan, Taiwan, spans 194 square meters and was a collaborative effort between designers Li-Ming Cheng and Kang-Hua Lin. The design team aimed to create different scenes within the home that encourage interaction, flow, and flexibility, ultimately fostering sweet family memories exclusive to the household.

One of the key challenges overcome during the project was the need to showcase the essence of space using minimal resources, emphasizing the original qualities and textures of the materials rather than relying on redundant embellishments. This approach not only aligned with the rising awareness of environmental protection but also added a delicate texture to the space.
