WONHO LEE's Brise Table, a fusion of furniture and fan, addresses climate change and space utilization, offering a unique cooling experience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WONHO LEE's Brise Table is a groundbreaking fusion of furniture and fan, designed to address climate change and space utilization. The innovative concept stemmed from a sense of responsibility for climate emergency and a desire to promote the use of fans over air conditioners. The Brise Table was exhibited at Hongik University in January 2020, following its completion in December 2019 in Seoul.
The Brise Table stands out with its unique approach to cooling. Unlike traditional fans that create strong winds, it focuses on circulating air gently to provide a cooling effect, even after reducing the air conditioner's usage. This approach not only conserves energy but also enhances the overall comfort of the space.
Measuring 536mm (W) x 536mm (D) x 550mm (H), the Brise Table features a control unit discreetly placed at the bottom, allowing users to adjust the fan's power across three stages. The design's realization involved a combination of materials, including acrylic, wood (Douglas fir), aluminum, and stainless steel, showcasing a meticulous production process.
WONHO LEE's design was inspired by the increasing number of single-person households in Korea, where space utilization and seasonal usability of appliances were key considerations. The Brise Table effectively addresses these challenges, offering a multifunctional solution that enhances both the environment and the user experience.
Recognizing the innovative approach and exceptional design, the Brise Table was honored with the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, highlighting its outstanding technical characteristics and remarkable innovation.
