FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sense Move Costume by Zhulin Shi

Industrial designer Zhulin Shi's "Sense Move" costume is a groundbreaking creation that combines wearable technology, LED lighting, and kinetic sculpture to create a unique and emotionally expressive costume for dancers. Inspired by the wise words of choreographer Yin Mei, the costume is designed to communicate sensitively through the body movements of the dancers, enhancing the emotional transmission between the performer and the audience.

The costume's different light effects express emotions, with slow fades representing breathing and flashes conveying excitement. It not only presents dynamic forms like a Kinetic 3D Sculpture but also creates new geometric space for the dancers, engaging the audience to participate in the contact improvisation. The "Sense" glove, a part of the costume, changes the light by sensing the touch, creating an interactive experience for the audience.

Utilizing a combination of prototyping, sketching, draping, cutting, sewing, soldering, and programming, Zhulin Shi has brought this innovative costume to life. The "Sense Move" costume has been applied and displayed in experimental workshops and chamber operas in New York City, showcasing its potential to revolutionize the performance industry.
