Yew Tze Yong's Momochan design project is a serene Japanese restaurant located in Jaya One Mall, Kuala Lumpur. The design aims to create a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle outside, providing a space where customers are looked after with great care and great food. The restaurant features a pet-friendly corner and an open kitchen, delivering a unique dining experience.
The restaurant's unique features include big and wide glass panels at the front and back, allowing for great natural lighting during the daytime. The open counter at the shopfront attracts walk-by customers with an ice-cream bar and a busy kitchen. The interior boasts a fabulous use of wood structure, handmade lamps, green marble, and wood stripes, blending tradition with modernity seamlessly.
Constructed with traditional materials such as concrete and wood in a minimalist setting, the design incorporates Japanese traditional wood stripes and green marble with earthy and neutral tones, creating a modern and welcoming atmosphere. The space measures 12000mm width x 10200mm depth x 4000mm height, covering 1360 square feet.
