Nisso Design's Modern Causal project, a residential design completed in Taiwan in August 2021, has been awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2023 for its innovative and practical approach to American minimalist style.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nisso Design's Modern Causal project is a residential design completed in August 2021 on the 30th floor in Taiwan. The project was designed for a 65-year-old couple who desired an American minimalist style with ample storage and a calm, casual ambiance. The design team utilized cool colors as the main tone, along with wooden flooring, stone grain tiles, and customized system cabinets to achieve the desired aesthetic. The project features distinctive lighting and a unique use of system boards throughout the space to create an elegant and luxurious atmosphere.
The design team's innovative use of wooden grilles and system cabinets not only added a decorative element but also provided functional storage solutions, including a hidden door and a storage room within the facade. The project also incorporated low formaldehyde, anti-fading, anti-mold, and anti-bacterial latex paint to ensure a maintenance-friendly environment.
The project's technical specifications include three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and an open-plan study room. Notable technical challenges included the construction of a black system cabinet in the foyer, which was fixed using a joggling technique due to the texture of the stone grain tiles. The design team also embedded a light bar in the dark wood-grained cabinet in the study room to provide both storage and display functions, maintaining the casual feeling sought by the clients.
