Heyou International Hospital: Redefining Medical Architecture

Heyou International Hospital, a comprehensive medical center, is designed to be accessible to the whole community, applicable to the whole life cycle, and cover the entire medical spectrum. The hospital incorporates landscape features such as courtyards and sky gardens, bringing sunlight, fresh air, and greenery into the hospital, creating a healing environment resembling an urban garden. The project boasts a total site area of 152,234sqm, with a total GFA of about 260,000sqm in phase I and a total planned GFA of about 380,000sqm in the long term.

The hospital's design integrates cutting-edge structural design and materials to reduce energy consumption and create a zero carbon emission facility. It features a dia-grid structural system and a unique facade, setting a new standard in the medical and health sector. The project also emphasizes the concept of "whole life cycle," with a modular layout that can grow with future needs, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to medical architecture.

Yu Bai, the visionary designer behind the project, drew inspiration from the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, conducting in-depth research to address the environmental safety and adaptability of medical building design. The hospital's design reflects a deep understanding of the evolving needs and challenges of medical architecture, aiming to create a space that not only serves the current medical requirements but also adapts to future changes in medical processes and equipment.
