Residential Design Project "Glimmering Figure" by Ching-Lin Yu

Ching-Lin Yu's residential design project, Glimmering Figure, has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2022. The project, completed in September 2020 in Taiwan, showcases a modern, simple, and refreshingly clean linear and geometric division style. The design reflects the client's optimistic and hospitable characteristics through the use of greyscale color tones and depth of field created by lights and shadows.

The unique features of Glimmering Figure include the application of greyscale color tones such as black, grey, and white, supplemented by linear divisions to create a modern yet simple visual style. The open-end method connects various public areas, promoting interactions and functionality. The project faced challenges such as integrating beam-columns and pipelines, ultimately resulting in a consistent ceiling modeling with hidden boundaries between areas.

Ching-Lin Yu's design team, including Jian-Hong Luo, utilized marble stones, special paints, baking paints, metal surface plates, Changhong glasses, diamond-shaped bricks, LED light strips, and solid wood veneer to realize the project. The design spans an indoor area of 40 ping, covering the entryway, living room, study, kitchen, master bedroom, and secondary bedroom.
